Customer Data Monitoring Tools and FAQs

How we approach performance & analytics monitoring, and what we do with your data.

What tools do we use for performance and analytics monitoring?

We use a mixture of Intercom, Hubspot and Google Analytics in order to better understand our users' needs and to optimize Polly's service and experience.

The above-mentioned services are technology services that helps us better understand our users' experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what features users use the most, what features are underutilized, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback.

  • Google Analytics is used primarily for the website (https://polly.ai/),
  • Intercom & Hubspot are used for a mixture of both in-app and website usage.

How do we use the information collected?

Google Analytics uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users' behavior (in particular device's IP address captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only). Google Analytics stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile with all data shown in aggregate view. Neither Google Analytics nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match with further data on an individual user.

We use this information to understand our users' activity, improve their experience, and research products, features, and services to better serve the user.

Intercom and Hubspot are used to track visits made to the Polly's website and actions taken within the app (e.g. poll created, survey created, etc.) and associates those with existing contact records in Intercom and Hubspot, which includes the IP address of Polly's user base. Since these activities are tied to a contact in Intercom and Hubspot, it is considered personal data. Intercom and Hubspot do not track individual users on the website who are not already a Polly customer. We use this information for our marketing and sales processes in order to give our users a better, and more personalized experience.

Can I use the Polly service without opting in to performance and analytics monitoring?

Yes. When you are prompted to read and accept Polly's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy upon installation, you are also given the choice to opt into other services such as receiving marketing emails and consenting to performance and analytics monitoring. The monitoring is not absolutely critical to provide service functionality, and you may opt out any time after you opt-in.

How do I opt out?

You can opt out by visiting your dashboard, clicking on your account drop-down, and clicking on Settings. There, you can tick or untick any of your performance and analytics monitoring settings.
